On March 19th and 20th, CFMOTO welcomed almost 200 attendees including media, distributors and dealers from across continents to Istanbul, Turkey to remove the covers of two new motorcycles and discover the special delights of the 450SR and the 700CL-X ADVENTURE. The event unveiled the flagship motorcycles with exciting laps around the internationally renowned venue (and former MotoGP circuit) Intercity Istanbul Park.
CFMOTO 450SR: the all-rounder for performance and comfort
The CFMOTO 450SR is a blend of light weight, performance, agility and fun, whether attacking the corners of a motorsport circuit or tipping into the curve of an empty road. The responsive, linear power matches - and beats - other midweight rivals in this segment of the motorcycle market. Every aspect of the 450SR breathes sport with the track in mind but with comfort and components for optimum street use.
With the CFMOTO 450SR, the company sets a fresh standard for a mid-displacement sports motorcycle. The bike promises a premium experience for new riders wanting more power and pulse-quickening handling. The CFMOTO 450SR is also a tempting track tool for expert riders seeking their limits. It is a playful, radical departure from the conservatism of normal street bikes and one of the most powerful in the segment with the biggest amount of torque compared to rivals.

Strong Power
The 450SR comes alive with the growl of CFMOTO’s self-developed 450cc parallel twin-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 34.5kw at 10,000rpm and a maximum torque of 39Nm at 7750rpm; offering a power-to-weight ratio of 0.19. The top speed reaches 190kmph and acceleration surges the bike from 0-100kmph in less than 5 seconds.
The motor counts on a crankshaft angled at 270 degrees for the similar characteristics of a V-twin and a double balance shaft to suppress vibration effects. The build consists of a magnesium aluminium alloy cylinder head for the ideal combo of weight and strength. The bike has forged pistons for more engine response and the whole unit is ceramic coated for durability through varying climates.
Buried within the engine architecture is an integrated water pump – for efficient heat dissipation – and a quick release air filter with refined oil groove tech for less friction and boosted reliability. The 450SR is easy maintenance but advanced quality with top drawer parts like DID chains and ASP valve springs. CFMOTO have developed the motor with significant internal resources and it’s a truly outstanding powerplant for both the motorcycle and the midweight segment of the industry.
A synthesis of design and engineering
Take a look at the 450SR. The identity is bold and clearly expresses the evolution of the SR series design language. It shouts “sport potential”. The split front face is the first point of an aggressive form that glides from the tip of the motorcycle to the edge of the tapered tail. The whole bike was developed with wind tunnel research (more than 30 hours and with more than 200 aerodynamic simulations that helped to redefine the shape) and the menacing front wing can provide 1.6kg of downforce at 120km/h. Each angle and curve (the windshield is now 48 degrees compared to 58 for more effective wind blocking) has been optimized to slice through the air and elevate the superb agility of the motorcycle. The aerodynamic capability is not only ruled by the front of the bike but by the channel-shaped rear seat section that augments the flow.
Dark color schemes increase the racing appearance and the dynamic LED lights turns even more heads with its uncompromising gaze and vibrant taillight ‘animation’. Attention is guaranteed with the Zircon Black and Nebular Black liveries.
Performance and comfort all in one
The 450SR pushes the rider to safely explore new boundaries with sporty ergonomics fixed with lower handlebars and raised footpegs compared to any other motorcycle in the CFMOTO portfolio. The high-strength but light alloy split frame and sub-frame contribute to a 179kg curb weight.
Sport-oriented front and rear suspension brings stability and controllability. The rear swing arm and rear suspension is connected by a multi-link structure, which is commonly used in professional superbikes to maintain vehicle firmness during intense riding.
There are three optional seat heights at 815cm, 795cm and 785cm(795mm is standard equipment,785mm and 815mm are in accessories).The saddle is slim and means the rider can drift around the bike whether they are in an attack position or out for a swift cruise. Want to race? Then you have the right platform. The reverse gear shifting pattern is a regular aspect of sport racing bikes for easier changes when the rider is leant over.
While speed is a friend of the 450SR safety is not a stranger. Premium components litter the 450SR’s spec sheet for the best possible way to slow and maintain control: Brembo brake calipers, ABS, and the slipper clutch delivers smoother and more efficient shifting because downshifts on muddy, dusty, snowy and wet surfaces become considerably softer. This is especially the case at high-speed.
Riding Smart
It feels like the whole world can get connected. So why not a rider and their 450SR? The 5-inch TFT curved display supports simple navigation and built-in shift guidance. The menu system is easily negotiated by the intuitive handlebar switch. The 450SR’s optional ‘T-box’ has a built-in 4G module and 6D sensor, which can enable a Bluetooth connection and real-time viewing of vehicle positioning, mileage, Over-The-Air upgrades, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), security and anti-theft, a track record and other crucial data accessible through CFMOTO’s innovative personal App. The 450SR’s everyday road convenience is lifted with the provision of a Type C/ Type A charging port, for different mobile phone models.

The bike taps into the current trend for neo retro-styling but with fully modern specs and high versatility of midweight motorcycles for all types of roads and light off-road trails.

Design
The 700CL-X ADVENTURE’s look and design is clear: neo retro styling, Café Racer spirit and Scrambler potency. Now available in a new color - Aurora Blue – the bike has a matte painted fuel tank ‘floating airship’ upper guard and a collection of details that radiate character and elegance, such as the ‘X’ badges denoting the CL-X family DNA. The integrated pillion seat is equipped with rear rests that visually extend the body line of the bike. Behind the protective windshield and long, heightened handlebars the rider will find a 830mm cushioned saddle. Don’t forget the spoked wheel hubs and off-road tires for the full aesthetic.
Off-road riding ready
The 700CL-X ADVENTURE has the same robust engine platform as the other CL-X models but the 2-cylinder inline, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC has been adapted for the bike’s scrambling traits, which means smooth and linear power at the bottom of the curve and at low speed. The motor pumps a maximum of 51.5kw@8500rpm and 60.9N.m@6500rpm. The system uses a slipper clutch for smooth downshifting behavior. The engine casing has a matte black plastic powder coating finish to emphasize the durability of the unit.
The attributes of the 700CL-X ADVENTURE’s chassis are obvious from the first meters at speed. This is thanks to handlebars that have been shifted upwards by 30mm and backwards by 15mm compared to other CL-X models. The rider’s posture is more relaxed to deal with any unexpected bumps while in the saddle and negotiating tricky terrain. The position also allows stand-up riding - showing the Scrambler lineage - and accounts for 10mm extra ground clearance and the higher front fender.
Other off-road advantages come with the strong aluminum alloy with anti-slide ‘teeth’, ground penetrating nails and possibility to remove the rubber inserts. The saddle cushion has been double thickened for optimum comfort.
Resistance is a recurring theme with the 700CL-X ADVENTURE. The non-welded wheel hubs eliminate the potential risk of deformation and damage during off-road. The spoked rims have high structural strength and good shock absorption. Double-O spoke ring nuts, mean forceful sealing and tightening performance but they are also easy to disassemble and replace if necessary.
Premium Pirelli Scorpion STR tires have a high silicone composition. They are extremely predictable and suitable for all-weather conditions. They cleverly widen the tire patch to increase the ground contact area, so they have both the maneuverability of street bike tires and the grip performance of off-road rubber. A special tread pattern, designed for off-road, strengthens lateral support and traction for the dirt.
Off-road control
The 700CL-X ADVENTURE is ready for the tarmac and the trail. It has poise, efficiency and excellence to get the rider where he or she wants to go and CFMOTO has crafted a lightweight Chromium-molybdenum steel frame for the job. The bike’s weight halts the scale at 203kg and the aluminum alloy swing arm helps with the low total.
High quality suspension is key. The front forks are KYB 41mm upside-down telescopic tubes with adjustable preload, compression and rebound. A KYB cantilever rear shock also has modifiable preload and damping. There is 150mm of travel for both forks and the shock.
Guide the 700CL-X ADVENTURE how you want with the ride-by-wire electronic throttle. ‘OFF-ROAD’ and ‘STREET’ ride modes determine engine character depending on the terrain and a CF-SC slipper clutch that greatly improves the process of downshifting and increases comfort and confidence. A Brembo braking system with ABS guarantees better safety on all types of surfaces. The retro-styled dashboard might seem simplistic but the ‘T-box’ has a built-in 4G module and 6D sensor, which constantly checks the bike’s status, positioning, mileage and more in real-time through the CFMOTO App. The display also charts the engagement of cruise control; a function that makes longer hours in the saddle easier and kinder!
